America’s number one sports brand Nike is the world’s highest seller of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) more than any other brand.
Nike: Highest Earning Brand from NFTs
According to data from Dune Analytics on Twitter, the brand surpassed other brands to become the highest-earning brand from NFTs sales.
Nike made over $185 million in revenue from the sale of NFTs.
In addition to their total revenue being seven times higher than the next company on the list, Nike also topped total transactions at over 67,000.
Meanwhile, some other athletics and fashion companies on the list In succeeding places were Dolce & Gabbana, Tiffany, and Gucci, with total revenue of $25 million, $12 million, and $11 million respectively.
D&G topped with over 9,000 transactions, followed by Gucci with almost 4,000, while Tiffany earned the amount of $ 12 million revenue from merely 74 transactions.
Adidas ranked fifth place with $10 million in total revenue but the second most amount of transactions at over 51,000.
Some other brands that made the top ten list according to dune analytics on Twitter include Budweiser, Times Magazine, Bud light, AO, Lacoste.
NFT sales plunged in the past one year
According to data from Non-Fungible.com, NFT sales have plunged over the course of the past year, apart from a singular spike on the first of May this year,
Roughly one year ago, on Aug 27th the number of daily sales increased by nearly 210,000, while on Aug 29, the same occurred for daily sales, hitting nearly $430 million.
Apart from a strong period of fluctuation in Jan and Feb, the number of sales remained above 120,000 until the end of last year, when the price of cryptocurrencies and daily NFT sales also proceeded to decline.
During the course of this week, the volume of sales has fallen to a mere 19,000 transactions, with a paltry $6 million in total sales.
Bored Apes top ten
Although there’s been a decline in NFT sales from year to year, some collections continue to sit at the top of the sales charts. At the time of writing, the top 10 NFT sales consisted solely of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, according to data from CryptoSlam.
The top ape was sold for 150 Ethereum which is about $242,000. Sales for the collection were up 54% over the past day, which came to a total of over $3 million in sales.
