OneOf, also known as the green NFT platform and a platform that brings together music, lifestyle, and sports, is about to honor biggie smalls with the launch of a massive NFT drop called “The Sky’s the limit: The Notorious B.I.G NFT collection”.
The NFT Collection Will Give Fans License to Biggie Smalls’ Audio Record
OneOf launched “The Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G NFT collection” to honor the famous rapper– Biggie Smalls.
The platform will allow fans to license Biggie Smalls’ audio recording– Fulton Street Freestyle– collectively through NFTs.
Biggie Smalls filmed the record in Brooklyn when he was 17 years old and since then no other artist has released or used the recording.
The NFT collection will be available on the OneOf platform and will consist of 3D characters that represent Biggie Smalls’ way and distinctive features.
Also, OneOf created a community for the project called “The Brook” and the holders of “The Sky’s the Limit NFT Collection” will have access to the platform.
The community will provide users with an immersive experience of music, lifestyle, fashion, and entertainment in the Metaverse consisting of Biggie Smalls’ NFT avatar.
Fans Can Use Soundtrack Starting From 26th July
Based on the announcement, fans can license the unreleased audio and start using it in their soundtrack from the 26th of July.
In an interview, the COO of OneOf– Joshua James– said that the platform puts fans in the driving seat of Biggie’s music and allows for limitless creativity.
He also said that Minting an NFT on the OneOf platform uses 2 million times less energy compared to its counterpart networks and also purchasing an NFT will cost $0 in blockchain gas fees for its users.
He added that OneOf is specifically designed for artists and music fans and is a leader in diversity in the space with more than 80% of its collections being curated by minority or female artists.
According to James, the OneOf platform has enabled them to commemorate the legacy of “The Notorious B.I.G” through his music to bring back memories of his iconic style.
Conclusion
This is not the first venture of OneOf into web 3.0. The company filed three trademark requests in March to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) stating its intentions for NFTs and the Metaverse.
The company also collaborated with The Grammy Awards to launch its first NFT collection and now is extending into the world of sports to provide more innovative experiences to its fans.
