Playboy plans to add to its Web3 services by launching a MetaMansion that will host gaming, social, and programmed events, as well as the company’s future NFT collectible releases.

An announcement on Monday revealed that this virtual version of the Playboy mansion would have a lot of gaming, social, and scheduled events, as well as future NFT collectibles from the company.

Playboy, a famous and race “lifestyle brand,” has teamed up with The Sandbox, a Metaverse NFT gaming platform, to launch the MetaMansion.

About the Playboy MetaMansion

The MetaMansion is also a Playboy’s Rabbitars NFT project, which consists of 11,953 tokenized bunny avatars that sold for about $800 each in October 2021. Soon, investors who own these NFTs will be able to carry out unique activities at the virtual mansion. But the details of its launch are yet to be out.

By the time of this writing, the floor price for Rabbitar NFTs on OpenSea is 0.19 Ether (ETH), which is about $206, which is a decrease of 74.25% since its launch in October.

More for MetaMansion Users

The Sandbox also revealed that later this quarter, users would be able to buy NFT land plots next to the MetaMansion. Going by recent event speculations, the land could be in high demand. For example, in December, someone paid $450,000 to be Snoop Dogg’s neighbor in The Sandbox-based Snoopverse.

Sebastien Borget, the chief operations officer and co-founder of The Sandbox, said, “Playboy is a great example because of its charm, lifestyle, and entertainment content that spans generations and has already done well in Web3.”

Playboy started working with NFTs for the first time in April last year when it released a set of tokenized centerfolds through Nifty Gateway. Some brands tried NFTs as a quick way to make money, but it appears Playboy is in for a long haul since it is launching the MetaMansion during a bear market.

The Sandbox has partnered with a long list of well-known firms and brands, which has helped get more investors interested in the project. The Care Bears, Warner Music, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, Atari, The Smurfs, and Adidas are just a few of the brands that host content on the platform.

Sandbox market performance so far.

According to CoinGecko, The Sandbox (SAND) has gone down by 7.9%. As of the time of writing, it is worth $1.11. The total market capitalization is $1.4 billion. Since its all-time high of $8.40 in late November, the price of SAND has gone down by 86.8%.
