Manny Pacquiao, boxing legend, former presidential aspirant, and Phillipine senator is set to launch an NFT project – Pacman NFTs.

The Pacman NFTs collection is a canine themed generative NFT collection. And it consists of 9,999 NFTs that pay tribute to Pacquiao’s pet Pacman that was killed by a car in 2020.
The collection also shows cartoonish dogs in fighting stances. They also have some skill based characteristics which include stamina and strength. Furthermore, the characteristics are divided into three tiers based on their skill levels and rarity.
The collection is part of a wider plan to host a blockchain-based game Pacman Boxing league. And the game will allow holders to compete to earn rewards.
The collection will drop on July 15th and has some real life utilities.
Real life utilities
Holders can redeem some autographed merchandise. They will also get tickets to live events or a one-on-one meeting with the boxing legend.
Furthermore, plans for the launch are already in place but the blockchain that will host it is unknown. This is not the first time a boxer is delving into the Web3 space. Several big names including Tyson Fury who launched a 1:1 commemorative NFT. This drop came before Fury announced the last fight of his career against Dillian Whyte. Furthermore, Fury’s collection had several utilities which includes two ringside tickets to his last match. Holders also have the chance to spend a day training with him himself. Legendary Floyd Mayweather also fought the first NFT boxing match in Dubai in May.
